Amid all the violence and cool cyborg technology, the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a tragic love story at its core. But in the second season? It might be more punk-rock , following a new cast of characters around Night City, but according to showrunner Bartosz Sztybor, emotional themes of love and parenthood are the connective tissue between seasons. "Honestly, from my perspective, all the themes, emotions, and questions are almost the same as with season one," Sztybor said to GameSpot. "I really like to treat both seasons as connected, as mirrors of each other—two pieces of something bigger that have a constant dialogue with each other. It's still a tale about sacrifices and what you will do for love. In season one, we saw the relationship between David and his mother in the first episode, and how the things she told him shaped him. Hulu’s Mother-Son Mystery ‘Phony’ Mutes Connie Britton’s Charisma Under Visual Effects: TV Review
It’s a shame Hulu shared only half the first season of the streamer’s new comedy-mystery series “Phony” with critics in advance, because so much depends on how the show resolves its central source of suspense. The premise is what one character calls a “reverse cuckoo situation,” or at least a potential one: When Sonny (Sam […]

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort review
One of my very favourite things to do in Switch Sports Resort isn't, technically, a sport at all. But I can't get enough of firing up Prop Plane's free-play mode, taking to the skies, and watching Wuhu Island do its thing below. Swing past the art museum or the shopping precinct and you'll see all sorts of little people milling around; take a wrong-way dive into a tunnel and here come the cars whizzing right at you. Out on the water, racers whip and twirl; on the archipelago's sandiest beaches, holidayers recline in the tropical sun. Fly over the stadiums and sports arenas and you'll see matches in progress - furious bouts of tennis, concentrated swings on golfing greens, or the pin-toppling bustle of bowling - crowds going wild in tandem. And if it's quieter contemplation you want, why not explore the subterranean depths of a volcano, or chart a gently winding path along the river banks

Final Fantasy Resonance review
I think the most memorable bit of brilliance in the otherwise flawed diamond that is Final Fantasy 16 is the way it handles legacy. There are moments where Clive and his recalcitrant band of revolutionaries rage against the way of the world: they burn down cities, depose oligarchs, shatter crystals. It's a none-too-subtle rallying cry against the binding nature of tradition: a radical plea to tear down the structures of the past in order to sow the seeds of the future. Read more
