Manchester City could have to reimburse the Premier League for as much as £50m in legal expenses after an independent commission ruled against the club on nearly every financial charge it faced. City deny any misconduct and have characterised the allegations as a conspiracy theory.
The league said Tuesday that the commission found City had overstated revenue by £900m across nine years, using contracts the panel deemed fictitious to meet spending requirements. More details are expected as the story develops.
