Why Apple is making headlines across devices, AI and television

Apple is trending because of new iPhones, watches and AirPods, alongside major Apple TV award wins and renewed attention to its artificial intelligence plans. The iPhone 18 Pro is drawing coverage of its camera changes and carrier offers, while Amazon is discounting Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 preorders before their release. The new $149 AirPods 5 are also receiving attention, with one review calling them Apple’s best open-ear earbuds.

Apple TV is another major driver of coverage. It won 28 Emmys, including 14 for “Widow’s Bay,” which took outstanding comedy series. Meanwhile, “Slow Horses” has been renewed for an eighth season following its Emmy win for outstanding directing in a drama series.

The AI news is more mixed. Apple Home is adding AI-powered security-camera video summaries, with new features costing as much as $60 a month. At the same time, Siri’s repeatedly delayed AI upgrade is being highlighted among projects that missed expectations.
